Bounce On!
This project was my final piece I produced for the first year of my Level 3 Extended Diploma in Games Design & Development. It features 3 full levels, a hub world, multiple types of collectables and a final boss fight.
Project Breakdown
3D Platformer Collectathon.
"Bounce On!" is a Playstation One Inspired 3D collectathon. It features three playable levels alongside a final boss fight and multiple endings. It stars the protagonist "Grunge" trying to find his wife's pet rats while fighting of the evil rat rebels. I designed and implemented all of the main characters abilities and movement, as well as all of the enemies and bosses.
Features


The "Slam Attack" can be used to gain height and momentum, as well as being used to defeat enemies
The "Roll Attack" can be used to gain momentum at the expense of height. It can be used to access out of reach areas and defeat enemies.



The "Glide" ability allows the player to float around and cross large gaps.

The game also features a dialogue system with unique dialogue and voices for every character.



The game also has small in game cutscenes for the intro or when you collect a rat etc.

Skills
Project Management
As part of this project I was tasked with a lot of duties. I was personally responsible for all of the programming, as well as the majority of the 3D models and sound design. This project taught me a lot about how to prioritise tasks and how to organise a project effectively.
Team Work
During this project I was part of a team of two people. I learnt a lot about collaboration and working effectively in a team, as well as how to distribute a workload to ensure that a project can meet its needed deadline.
Programming
For this project I was the lead programmer. I was in charge of programming gameplay, AI as well as any other assets that needed code.
